Spaza Space newspaper
Spaza Space is Science Spaza’s official newspaper packed full of topical science-related articles, news, games, competitions and activities – including catch ups, articles and pictures from learners across the country.

Spaza Space is an opportunity to reach young audiences with advertorials, advertising, sponsoring a page, or an entire themed publication. 10 000 printed copies are distributed to a network of science clubs and science centres across South Africa and digital copies are shared via our website (free to download!) and social channels.
Science Spaza activity worksheets and videos
Science Spaza activity worksheets are an interactive and fun way to share evidence-based knowledge and research. Each worksheet uses a comic-format to introduce and ‘translate’ complex concepts into hands-on, activity-based STEM learning.
Worksheets are created around researchers’ key messages and include:
- Establishing core science concepts
- Activities with step-by step instruction suitable for low-resource settings
- Links to African science
- Reinforcement of key learnings
- Curriculum links
- Role-modelling and career profiling.
Printed copies are distributed as inserts in our Spaza Space newspaper and on our social channels. They are also available to download (free of charge) from our website. Additional printed copies or digital files can be arranged for your own outreach activities.
Science outreach, events and activations
Participation, facilitated by the Science Spaza team, in science fairs, shows, career expos, National Science Week activities and learner outreach experience days. Each customised to your brand and messaging requirements. These engagements can also be turned into shareable videos
Science Spaza videos are 2-3 minute online videos in which key research concepts are explained, learners lead interviews with researchers, and hands-on learner activities and engagement are demonstrated.
